The Chronicles, Distantly Read
A computational reading of the Crusader Kings III dev diaries and their community responses
This project applies distant-reading methods — word frequencies, TF-IDF, concept networks, and frequent-phrase mining — to the Crusader Kings III developer diaries published by Paradox Interactive and the forum replies they drew from the community. Three reports follow: one on the diaries themselves, and two on the voices that answered them.
-
I. The Dev Diaries

-
II. The Community Responds
An analysis of community responses to the diaries — themes, concerns, and enthusiasms of the player base.
-
III. The Reply Corpus
A distant reading of the full forum reply corpus, with word clouds, concept networks, and phrase analysis.
